Italian, professionally trained gelato Maestri 

Vincenzo was born & raised in Italy, he also trained there extensively for months (and keeps going back for updates) to make sure he can bring the authentic art of gelato making to West Chester & the Philadelphia area. Gemelli is the only gelato shop in the greater Philadelphia area that works completely from scratch without anything pre-made, powders, colorants or flavorings. Like a trip to Italy, without the need of a plane ticket!

 

Local, seasonal and raw ingredients

We use what our local land has to offer. Just like back in Italy, Vincenzo utilizes and transforms, in house, local raw ingredients. We follow the seasons to offer you an ever changing and flavor-bursting gelato experience. No tin cans full of oily stuff, no sugary syrups in plastic bottles, no bright green, “toothpaste like” mint flavoring.

Like Italian tradition dictates, we only use real ingredients. We never use artificial colorants, pre-made or artificial flavorings or powder mixes for our bases or gelato. You can actual taste the fresh fruit, the hazelnuts or real caramel and rest assure your tastebuds will thank you!

 

We don’t buy pre-made bases or powder mixes to create it, but instead we follow the Italian tradition of in-house pasteurization of our own base, always fresh and completely from scratch. We only include local grass-fed dairies (milk & cream), milk powder & sugars. We follow the original Italian disciplinary every step of the way. 

 

Voted “Best Gelato in North America” at the James Beard Foundation in Manhattan, during the Gelato World Tour (the largest gelato competition in the world) we craft our farm-fresh gelato with the same care, ingredients and respect for traditions as we would do in Italy. We are also so proud to have received so many local and regional awards since we first opened in 2014.
